For those who haven’t played the game yet, here’s a brief introduction to ‘Cuphead’
The game is set in the fictional world of Inkwell Isles where Cuphead and his brother Mugman, two joyful cups, live their lives under the protection of Elder Kettle. One day, the brothers make the mistake of gambling with the devil in his casino; although at first, they appear to win the bets, the devil tricks them into raising the stakes. When they lose the bet to the devil and forfeit their souls to him, the devil makes a counter-offer: he charges them with the task of bringing back ‘soul contracts’ from his runaway debtors in any way possible.
If they succeed in doing so, the devil will give them back the ownership of their souls. The brothers set off on an epic adventure that takes them through Inkwell Isles, fighting and defeating the debtors one by one and growing stronger after each level. In the end, the players have to decide if they should honour the deal with the devil or not. If they do honour the deal, all the debtors will lose their souls and Cuphead and Mugman will forever become his lackeys. However, if they betray the devil and defeat him, the debtors would be set free and would honour the brothers for their heroic deeds. The game is a wholesome, challenging, immersive, and fun-filled experience.

What will Netflix’s ‘The Cuphead Show’ be about?
Netflix has released the much-awaited teaser trailer for its upcoming show ‘The Cuphead Show’. From the preview, fans have gathered that the new show would be set in the same, ‘Inkwell Isles’ where the game is also based. Similarly, the show would also feature hand-drawn animations in the 1950s style and jazz soundtracks to complete the aesthetic of Max Fleischer’s “rubber hose” style (think ‘Popeye the sailor man’ and ‘Betty Boop’) of animating cartoons. Co-executive producer Cosmo Segurson has guaranteed the fans that everyone on the animation team is bringing their “A-game”.
In the 45 second preview, posted on twitter, we can see that the animation for the show is indeed no less than gorgeous and Inkwell Isles looks amazing there. One thing that viewers might notice is that the show’s animation will not render at 24 frames per second like the game but rather at 60 frames per second. This will cause the animation to lose its old school, rustic, and glitchy appearance for a more synthetic and well-produced look. The plot of the show will more or less reflect the original ‘Cuphead’ game’s plot, sparing a few minor changes.
When can we expect ‘The Cuphead Show’ to air?
As of now, the release date for the show has not been declared by Netflix. Fans will not have to wait that long and the show’s release is actually just around the corner.
Who will be the voice actors for the show?
Netflix has made public the voice cast for the upcoming ‘The Cuphead Show’. Some of the names on the roster being Tru Valentino (as Cuphead), Frank Todaro (as Mugman), Luke Millington (as The Devil), Joe Hanna (as Elder Kettle) and Grey Griffin (as Ms Chalice).
