- Shocker! Henry Cavill was rejected from playing James Bond
The world has been craving for some more of Henry Cavill and Netflix has delivered it. Our beloved Witcher and Superman is going to appear as Sherlock Holmes in the upcoming Netflix original movie Enola Holmes.
Henry Cavill as Sherlock
The world started gushing over Henry Cavill’s new Victorian look as Sherlock Holmes. Ever since Netflix dropped the trailer of Enola Holmes on August 25, from his tweed suits, trench coats, and pocket watch to curly hair, fans can’t get enough of Cavill.

Despite the movie boasting about Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown in her first-ever leading role in a feature film as Enola, trying to outsmart her famous detective cousin brother Sherlock and find her mother before him, the internet’s attention almost immediately shifted on to Henry Cavill. The movie is set to be released on 23rd September on Netflix.
Henry Cavill to play Superman, Witcher, and Sherlock — all at the same time?
After playing Superman in DC Comic’s Man of Steel, Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher, and anti-hero August Walker in Mission Impossible Fallout, Henry Cavill has constantly been wowing the world with his versatile acting skills. It is easy to understand by now that when Henry Cavill takes up a role, he doesn’t just act, the character becomes his second skin. He starts living that character in order to do justice to it.

Shocker! Cavill was rejected from playing 007
Yes. That’s correct. Henry Cavill’s list of playing iconic characters like Superman, the Witcher, and now Sherlock Holmes would have been longer if he weren’t rejected from Casino Royale. Cavill was deemed too young and too fat (yes, fat) to play James Bond. The role was given to Daniel Craig. But now that Cavill is proving his worth in the industry, who knows, he might be Craig’s successor as next 007.
