Henry Cavill rejected for James Bond
It is possible that Henry is considering starring in a Marvel film because he’s worried about being passed over for the role of Bond. In a weeks-old Hollywood Reporter interview, Henry got asked about what Marvel Superhero he would like to play on-screen. Henry, ever humble, stated that he would not want to play any role that is currently getting potrayed by another actor. Henry believed that all the actors had been playing their parts nicely in the most successful Hollywood film franchise of all time. However, he said he would love to be a part of the MCU, playing Captain Britain.

Henry Cavill as Captain Britain
Captain Britain, the British equivalent of Captain America, has never been adapted for the big screen. It was only natural for Henry, a proud Britishman, to want to play the role.
Henry isn’t even new to playing superheroes. The actor has been DC’s Superman for the past decade and has been quite popular. The DC and Marvel being cinematic competitors of each other, it seems highly unlikely though that Henry would play a Superman alongside playing a Marvel superhero. But since his future with the DCEU isn’t in its very best shape, it can be a possibility that MCU wants Henry on board.
But again, is it all to distract his fans from the gloomy chances of Henry playing James Bond? Sure, being a typical British gentleman doesn’t hurt his chances. However, Tom Hardy has consistently remained in the top two of all the contenders for the role. Rege Jean Page, a Hollywood star, is currently at the top of the list of candidates for the role. Henry had dropped to third or fourth place.
It has been an exciting race so far, and the studio is taking its own time making the big announcement. Daniel Craig played the role so perfectly that the bar has been set very high for the next person to commit to the role, and it will be a long commitment.
Let’s see if Henry Cavill successfully saves his face by becoming a Marvel Superhero, if not the new James Bond for an entire generation.
