With a successful run for over a decade, will ‘Hell on Wheels’ get another season or a spin-off this year? Let’s take a look.
Set during the 1800s, ‘Hell on Wheels’ aired on AMC between 2011 and 2016. The series was made by Joe and Tony Gayton and included the cast of Anson Mount, Colm Meaney, Common, Dominique McElligott, and Tom Noonan. In spite of the five-year run of AMC’s authentic ‘Hell on Wheels’, the organization’s choice to end the show with season 5 was conclusive. The ‘Hell on Wheels’ finale
On April 2016, AMC delivered a public statement declaring ‘Hell on Wheels’ Season 5 as the last season of the series. It ended with its last seven episodes. The finale was set to debut on 23 July 2016.
“Making this show has been the feature of my profession“, said John Wirth.
“I can’t envision a superior cast, team, gathering of journalists or organization. Much obliged to you, Charlie Collier, Joel Stillerman, and Susie Fitzgerald for supporting us consistently.”
AMC likewise revealed that it will be producing another Western series, ‘The American West’. It will be made under Stephen David Entertainment. The organization president, Stephen David, stated,
“The series will permit watchers the chance to investigate a period of celebrated person and lawmen who moulded American history, associated through a bigger story that is never been told along these lines”.
Meanwhile, the final episode of this series aired with the title “Done”. The episode showed the government hearings and unpredictable outcomes that brought new beginnings and endings for the heroes of ‘Hell on Wheels’.
Will there be a spin-off as rumoured?
The possibility of a ‘Hell on Wheels’ Season 6 or a spin-off has definitely made fans excited. Fan expect the writers to create a story that befits the modern setting with more complexity and turmoil.

Reports state that AMC is not, at this point, keen on making another season of ‘Hell On Wheels’ or its spin-off. The producers and the writers of this show are yet to comment on the production of a new season or a possible spin-off. All we can do is wait.
‘Hell on Wheels’ leaving Netflix this 2020
All the five seasons, with 57 episodes, were withdrawn from Netflix, USA on December 31st, 2020. The series has been airing on Netflix since September 2014 with new seasons added yearly.
The series will be departing alongside various other high profile series that includes ‘Hart of Dixie’, ‘The West Wing’, ‘Dexter’, and ‘Gossip Girl’. This will, however, not affect viewers outside the United States. It is currently streaming only on Netflix and there is very little chance of it streaming elsewhere.
