Ever year Menstrual Hygiene Day (MHD) is revisited on 28 May. The aim is always the same – to create awareness and eradicate negative preconceptions surrounding the topic. The day encourages the importance of good menstrual hygiene management in a woman’s life.
This unique day was brought into existence in 2014 by a German NGO- WASH United. The date was also chosen strategically – 28 symbolises the average number of days of a menstrual cycle.
