Gotham City is coming to HBO Max soon. The authorities have given a big thumbs up for a spinoff of ‘Gotham’ i.e. Matt Reeves’ up and coming ‘The Batman’ which will be set inside the Gotham City Police Department.
One of the most extraordinary DC shows was Bruno Heller’s 2014 chiller, ‘Gotham’. The show focussed on crime analyst James Gordon and a youthful Bruce Wayne. The series has so far come up with 5 widely praised seasons and fans have been chasing the hope for a 6th season for a while. The series concluded in 2019 and Fox is at long last prepared to bring the ‘Gotham’ back for season 6.

Exciting, engaging, and sinister, ‘Gotham’ was a show with a criminal undertone. Set in Gotham City, the series followed analyst James Gordon (Ben McKenzie) who was working hard to find an answer to the homicide of a youthful Bruce Wayne’s (David Mazouz) parents.
Over the seasons, James and Bruce were seen together battling scalawags who would go to any extent to establish control over and rule the city. They were helped by Bruce’s guardian and butler Alfred Pennyworth (Sean Pertwee), future Catwoman Selina Kyle (Camren Bicondova), James’ partner Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue), and Dr Leslie Thompkins (Morena Baccarin).
The highlight of the series was the evil miscreants and their depiction by a line-up of amazing actors. The series dives into the very essence of DC comics.
It also uncovers the origin of villains from the Batman establishment including Penguin, Riddler, Mad Hatter, Hugo Strange, Poison Ivy, Ra’s al Ghul, Nyssa al Ghul, Scarecrow, Bane, and the Joker, among others. The series, however, mainly concentrates on Gordon’s life as he encounters Gotham city’s shadowy underside of ruinous foes.

What happened in ‘Gotham’ Season 5?
Season 5 finished with a 10-year time jump where Gordon was presently the Commissioner of Gotham City Police Department and Barbara Kean had left her life of wrongdoing and had become an effective businessperson. Penguin and Riddler were, finally, free from the asylum and Bruce at long last came back to Gotham City as the Dark Knight.
The final season was supposed to have only 10 episodes but was given 12 to make the total tally of episodes 100. The series was praised both by fans and critics who found the ending satisfying.
Now, not long after the ending of season 5, it was declared that the show would be rebooted in 2021 and that its ending would tie into the upcoming batman spinoff as well as the Batman movie.
Is ‘Gotham’ Season 6 coming?
Ah well, the short answer to this is yes, the series has been renewed.
The up and coming season will be set in a similar universe as the 2021 film, ‘The Batman’, helmed by Matt Reeves, featuring Robert Pattinson as the nominal character.
We can’t say yet whether the HBO arrangement will spin around Gordon or Bruce. Be that as it may, considering HBO’s history with exceptional shows, the upcoming season is bound to be surprising, suspenseful, ominous, dark, and super twisted!
