If he were alive, the unparalleled actor would have been 87!
Amrish Puri would have been 87 today. He is probably the most loved villain in the history of time. And why should he not be? The man was an epitome of acting and humble to the core. A deadly combination to hold, isn’t it? But he is more famously known by his role of villain ‘Mogambo’. This role was portrayed in his movie Mr. India. With his deep voice, it can be said without a doubt that no one could have filled his shoes better than the man himself. But initially, he was a nightmare for the children of the 90s. Children used to be scared of the great villain roles he played with impeccable perfection.
Happy Birthday Mogambo! Some villains are just too close to the hearts.

His contribution to the Indian cinema is so vast to be put into words. And it reaches across the world too. So much so, that Google felt obliged to honor the man with a doddle.
Mogambo khush hua!
Moreover, NFAI ( National Film Archive of India ) celebrated the various roles of the actor. In fact, they dedicated a whole week to him!
Amrish Puri was born in 1932 in Punjab. But it was not until he was 39 that he got his first ever role in Bollywood.
The man has since then given life to many characters. Indeed, the most iconic of his roles are of Mogambo and Simran’s father in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge.
Ja Simran ja, jee le apni zindagi!
