The next movie in the MonsterVerse is an unprecedented showdown between two of the most famous and powerful Titans. But the big question remains — Who will win when Godzilla wrestles Kong?
‘Godzilla Vs Kong’ reminds us of ‘Superman Vs Batman’ — two of the most powerful protagonists fighting against each other. But the movie is not a new piece of news. It was announced way back in 2015. In fact, there is also a 1962 Japanese movie of a similar name. And now after almost six decades, the two goliath monsters will come face to face yet again— but for the last time.
Ever since the movie was announced in 2015, a consistent question remains — who will win when Godzilla and Kong face-off? Who will take home the crown?
Highlights —
- Godzilla Vs Kong release date.
- The MonsterVerse movie is going back to the cameras!
- Who will win when the two monsters fight?

Apart from the MCU, if there is another cinematic universe that has widespread fandom, it is Legendary’s MonsterVerse. After ‘Godzilla: King of Monsters’ (2019) and ‘Kong: Skull Island’ (2017), the stage is set for the two monsters to cross paths as they vie for the title of ‘The King of Monsters’.
However, none of these MonsterVerse movies from 2017 and 2019 were massive box office hits. In fact, ‘Godzilla: King of Monsters’ earned only $385 million as compared to ‘Kong: Skull Island’s $566 million. Not only this, the Godzilla movie was barely able to get a passable score on Rotten Tomatoes with only 42% compared to Kong’s 75%.

Keeping this in perspective, the future for the MonsterVerse movie, Godzilla Vs Kong, seems dicey. But on the other hand, it also shows the promise of a good plot with two of the most powerful monsters sharing the screen space. In fact, ever since the movie was announced, fans’ started webbing the plot and what could be the possible climax.
If Godzilla Vs Kong does not become a hit, chances are that this will prove to be the downfall of the whole franchise.
Furthermore, a recent piece of news is not that great for the upcoming movie.
Re-shooting
Godzilla Vs Kong hasn’t had the best test screenings as compared to other similar-sized projects. And this has led to reshooting some of the major scenes. According to ‘We Got This Covered‘,
The project is heading back in front of the camera for what’s said to be ‘heavy‘ shots.
Watch: Godzilla Vs Kong news ranging from figures to the potential of massive reshoots coming for the movie.
The project got delayed multiple times in the past for various reasons and now the reshooting schedules might further damage the franchise’s reputation.
But on the other hand, it might just be a cautious move from the makers who intend to perfect the movie after ‘Godzilla: King of Monsters’. Moreover, this will be the last cinematic Godzilla and Kong face-off. So, the makers would have to perfect this larger-than-life fight. The news of re-shooting clearly indicates the heavy pre-cautions which the makers are taking to make the best out of the movie’s plot.
If everything goes well, Godzilla Vs Kong will release on 20 November 2020.

Godzilla Vs Kong — who will win?
The answer is becoming more and more obvious. Currently, Godzilla is termed as the ‘King of Monsters’. And thus, it is highly anticipated that his contender Kong will take that crown and finally be ‘King Kong’. When we saw the giant ape in ‘Kong: Skull Island’, he was barely 104 feet tall. So, it seems impossible that Kong could overpower a 393 feet Godzilla.
So how can Kong become ‘King’ Kong?

Well, when we saw him in the 2017 movie, Kong was in his adolescence years. As the Godzilla Vs Kong movie is in the works, Kong continues to grow in size. And there is proof of the fact that he is still growing compared to a fully-grown Godzilla.
In footage from Brazil’s CCXP, Godzilla and Kong are in the middle of a brawl and are of the same size! With his growing size and power, Kong might even end Godzilla in the final fight of ‘Godzilla Vs Kong’.
Fans might have anticipated the end in advance, but the journey of the two monsters fighting each other for one final time will be an amazing one. We just have to wait and watch whether the makers do justice to the MonsterVerse fans awaiting the movie of the century.
