Man Utd fans have started a movement on social media saying “GO” to the Glazers
Social Media has set ablaze with slogans of “Glazers out”. Manchester United fans from all parts of the world are coming together to give fire to the movement. Though it has been 14 long years since the Glazer family took over the football club. The fans protested then and the fans are protesting now. But this time the force is way greater and the worldwide movement might just get somewhere.
Glazers acquired 75% of Man Utd in 2005, but now the fans want it back
It was 16 May 2005 that the football club lost its identity to US tycoon Malcolm Glazer. In fact, this is considered the darkest of all days in the club’s history. Despite fans’ fears, Manchester United has won many titles. But that was mainly due to Sir Alex Ferguson’s genius.
Ever since Ferguson’s retirement, things have gone all downhill. Long-time fans of Manchester United have grown tired watching their favorite club being pushed down. Their patience has worn out. And the result is #GlazersOut movement.
Fans across borders have United against the Glazers
Twitter is colored in green and gold- the original Manchester United colors.
Himanshu Sharma, a longtime Manchester United fan from India opined, “The Glazers have never resonated with the fans, and same applies to Ed Woodward, whose business in the market has been underwhelming. United is struggling for over 6 years now and they haven’t been able to turn it around. It’s time for them to go.”
