Reportedly the shooter cut a fence to get into the festival
It was a horrific night at the Gilroy Garlic Festival, one of the largest food festivals in the US, on Sunday. During a shooting near the festival in Northern California, at least three people got killed. Not only that but 15 other people too got injured in the shooting. Apart from that, a suspect was also shot.

Police Chief, Scot Smithee, said in a press conference “It’s sort of a nightmare you hope you never have to live in reality.” And indeed it would have been a nightmare!
Furthermore, Smithee said that the suspect was shooting “somewhat randomly.” And thus the investigators seem to have no information on a motive. In fact, he added that the police suspects that a second person was involved. But they are not sure in what way he/she might have been abetting.
A spokeswoman for Satna Clara County Public Health System informed that eleven people were taken to two hospitals with gunshot wounds. While three of them have now been treated and released, the rest are still in a critical condition.
“I would ask for the thoughts and prayers of the community as our officers continue to investigate this tragic and senseless crime,” Mayor Roland Velasco said.
A witness, Julissa Contreras, who was a former police cadet, revealed in an interview on Sunday night that she witnessed “your average white guy” firing from what looked like a semi-automatic rifle, “kind of just going left to right and shooting whoever he could, honestly.”
