After a rather disappointing return of the iconic ‘Gilmore Girls’ in 2016, we can hope for a brand new season that does justice to its old seasons. This critically acclaimed American television drama ran for 7 installments before coming to a halt on May 15, 2007.

Will ‘Gilmore Girls’ make a comeback with season 9?
In 2016, Netflix decided to bring it back with a mini-series called ‘Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life’ based on the show. If you haven’t watched it yet, check out the trailer here.
However, the mini-series turned out to be far from satisfactory and proved to be a failed attempt to bring back the characters from the iconic series. But the popularity of the show is evident by the fact that Netflix decided to pick up the show 9 years later. So, it certainly has the potential and demand to go forward with season 9, and the makers should definitely consider working on one. And, the fact that the four-episode series was left on a cliffhanger, leaves a lot of room for the writers to work on a new season. Sounds exciting, right?
However, there’s no official confirmation from Netflix or Amy Sherman-Palladino on this. The creator of ‘Gilmore Girls’ is currently busy with ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’, so we might not get to see it anytime soon. But, the cast will surely want to return if season 9 goes underworks. As of now, the actors are busy with other projects in their kitty.
What to expect from season 9?
The revival of the ‘Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life’ had ended with a cliffhanger: Rory’s pregnancy. So, season 9 would probably pick up from there and resolve the questions around her pregnancy.
There are many unanswered questions such as who the baby’s father could be and whether she’ll decide to keep the baby. Whether it’s her personal life or her career, there’s a lot of room for the writers to take Rory’s character forward.

The story revolves around a mother-daughter duo (Lorelai Gilmore and Rory Gilmore) and the bond between them. Lorelai comes from a wealthy family but when she gets pregnant at the age of 16, she runs away to create her own life path as a single mother. They move to a fictional town called Stars Hollow in Connecticut where the duo comes across many interesting characters.
