Who are the ‘Gilmore Girls’?
‘Gilmore Girls’ was a prized show of the 2000s, with hour-long episodes on WB. The show gave us seven successful seasons until WB decided to close upon the show, giving us the ‘Gilmore Girls’ finale seasons in 2006.
The show followed the life of Rory Gilmore and her mother Lorelai Gilmore. Raised by a super-wealthy family in Connecticut, Lorelai (played by Lauren Graham of the ‘Parenthood’ fame) ran away from her home at the age of 16 following her pregnancy. Rejecting her upper-class upbringing, Lorelai tries to carve her own path as a single mother.

Lorelai, with her child Rory, lives in Stars Hollow, a few towns away from the Gilmore Mansion. ‘Gilmore Girls’ starts sixteen years later, showing Lorelai working at an Inn, charming her way into the audiences’ heart with her incessant banters and witty repartees.
The ‘Gilmore Girls’ Universe
When Rory, 16-years-old now, gets herself into an expensive college-preparatory school, her mother Lorelai knocks at her estranged parents Emily and Richard Gilmore’s door. She asks them if she can borrow money. They agree but have a condition for the ‘Gilmore Girls’, that the two must have dinner with them every Friday night. From there ensued a weekly obsession for the viewers as they tracked the two women and their lives, their school difficulties, job changes, and everything in between – including family, friends, and romance.
Nearly after a decade, when the show aired its final episode, ‘Gilmore Girls’ was picked by Netflix for a ‘Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life’ extension. Since then, the show has only grown.
