Gilmore Girls co-creator Amy Sherman-Palladino has accepted that she is open to the idea of Netflix’s Gilmore Girls revival.
Amy was confronted about the probability of brand new episodes to Gilmore at the Writer’s Guild Awards. The event took place in New York City on February 1, 2020.

The girls-next-door: Gilmore Girls
The American-comedy drama starring Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel premiered on October 2000. The last episode of the mother-daughter drama ended in May 2007 with a total number of seven seasons.
The show over a period of seven years has been able to capture its audiences with its captivating and slice-of-life story. The emotions could ricochet with the audiences due to its sympathetic appeal and its smart one-liners.
About the show
The show follows the life of Lorelai (played by Lauren) and Rory Gilmore (played by Alexis). Raised in an upper-class family, Lorelai absconds from her home after getting pregnant at the age of 16. Discarding her luxurious lifestyle, Lorelai goes on to living a simple life with her daughter.

The ordeal of a single-mother kept aside, Lorelai is a smart, witty and an extremely charming woman. The girls live in the fictional town of Stars Hollow. Things start to change for the Gilmore Girls after Lorelai needs money for Rory’s admission into an expensive school.
With no options left, Lorelai is forced to seek help from her parents who agree to pay for her daughter’s fees but with a condition in hand. The Girls have to come for a Friday dinner ritual every week and spend time with Emily and Richard Gilmore.

From that point on, the viewers were hooked to the Gilmore Girls’ saga and watched as the girls grew, overcame every obstacle, and had each other’s back through their highs and lows of life. The fans became witness to their new passionate romances, family drama and professional ruckus.
The Gilmore Girls Spin-Off
In 2016, Netflix announced a Gilmore Girls revival. A spin-off to the Television series, the show is called Gilmore Girls: A Year In the Life. The series comes with four episodes timed at an average of 1 hour 30 mins each.
Since then, there has been no news around the Gilmore Girls universe. In spite of several rumours online about a second season to the spin-off, fans haven’t yet received any form of Gilmore Girls reprise.
