A decade after the finale of Gilmore Girls, Amy Sherman-Palladino (the creator) gave the fans another reason to celebrate with the Gilmore Girls mini-series.
The Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel starrer Gilmore Girls mini-series; A Year in the Life premiered it’s Season 1 in 2016. The four-episode long mini-series covers the life of mother Lorelai, daughter Rory, and grandmother Emily Gilmore’s life through four seasons – Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall.

Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life Episode 1-4 Explained
Rory Gilmore is experiencing her career-high as a budding journalist permitting her to travel frequently. Owing to this, Rory proposes to put her apartment on sale.
However, when Rory is in London she lives with Logan, the guy whom she is in a friends-with-benefit kind of a relationship. The two hook up in spite of the fact that Rory is in a ‘serious’ relationship with another man named Paul meanwhile Logan’s engaged to another girl.
Trouble begins to stir in Rory’s life when Noami terminates her and Logan’s fiancée shifts in with him forcing Rory out. Citing all this, Rory finds it difficult to cope with the stress.
However, things begin to change once she meets a handsome new guy named Jess who encourages Rory to write her own book.
Meanwhile, in Stars Hollow, Emily mourns the death of her late husband Richard. Daughter-mother Lorelai and Emily Gilmore take up therapy sessions to cope with a personal loss.
Apart from grieving the death of her father, Lorelai has more problems to counter. Her strained relationship with Luke Danes begins to take a toll on her mentally. The duo, Luke and Lorelai have been in a relationship for over ten years and haven’t yet discussed marriage or children.
Emily starts afresh
Eventually, with the passage of time, Emily comes to terms with her husband’s death and decides to sell the Gilmore Mansion in a move to begin a new life in Nantucket.
Meanwhile, Lorelai plans a hastened excursion to the Pacific Crest Trail following a spat with her daughter Rory where she has an epiphany. After returning from the trip, Lorelai decides to marry Luke and finally proposes him for marriage.
Rory tells her father Christopher Hayden about her mother Lorelai’s marriage with Luke. During the intense daughter-father conversation, Rory asks Christopher why he abandoned them.
In the last leg of the Gilmore Girls mini-series, Luke and Lorelai get married to each other where Rory confesses to her mother that she is pregnant.
Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life Season 2 Release Date
It has been four years since Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life released on Netflix. Fans since then have been waiting to know whose child is Rory pregnant with. Thereby, fans still await an official announcement by Netflix on Gilmore Girls mini-series Season 2.
Since there is no official announcement on Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life Season 2, it will be malicious to predict a release date for it already. Since the show is such a huge hit amongst its fans, they are kind of waiting for an apt closure for the story. So, here’s hoping the makers listen to their fans and renew the Gilmore Girls mini-series for Season 2.
