As Better Call Saul is approaching its sixth and final season, according to show creator Peter Gould, making both shows coherent is like trying to solve ‘the devil’s own Rubik’s Cube’. He also teased that season 6 will shed new light on the show’s well-known characters, including Saul Goodman.
How Better Call Saul has already changed people’s perspective about Saul Goodman
In Breaking Bad, we see Saul Goodman as a shady, opportunistic, and unscrupulous criminal lawyer. However, Better Call Saul, from the beginning, introduced us to another side of Saul – Jimmy McGill (played by Bob Odenkirk).
He is a good man who tries but fails to do the right thing every time. Slowly, we see Jimmy getting involved with Juarez Cartel in Albuquerque, New Mexico. With every failure, we see Jimmy’s identity chipping away until there is nothing left. We sympathize with Jimmy when he changes himself, takes up a new persona. He adopts a moniker – Saul Goodman. There is more to it.

Show-runner Peter Gould teases about season 6
In addition to introducing many new characters, Better Call Saul has provided new insight into many Breaking Bad characters’ lives, such as Mike Ehrmantrout, Nacho Varga, and Gus Fring. However, the main challenge Peter Gould has been facing is that the audience already knows the story arcs of many characters from Breaking Bad, making the scripting of season 6 harder for him.
That’s why, for season 6, Peter Gould has welcomed Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan into the writers’ room. Since Gilligan has overseen all of Breaking Bad, he can add important insights into how to tie both the shows together.

We’ll learn new things and the fates of some Breaking Bad characters, which may surprise people or at least will throw them into a different light. It will shed more insight into some events of Breaking Bad that we didn’t know.”
