Naturally, fans were devastated when the announcement was made a month ago before the final season was to premiere. But like any other great show that moved millions, there have been rumours of another season..but is it true?

Real Reason Big Bang Ended With a Bang
The popular show created by Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady wrapped up in May 2019 after a successful run for 12 seasons and many fans were left wondering why the show had suddenly ended. The creators had been hinting as to no such thing and another season was very understandably expected by everyone.
Jim Parsons who plays Sheldon on the hit series has been the driving force of the show from the very first season and it was him who first announced that he no longer wanted to return past the 12th year.
He further clarified that it was not anything specific or a problem he had with the cast or people he worked with. For him it was a choice that he didn’t make but a choice that rather came to him. (It hurts nevertheless)
He further added by saying that Sheldon had given him so much life and love to reflect back on and he was so grateful to have played the part (1 Million per episode paycheck, I would think so!) but there was something inside him that made him think “This is it.”

So No Season 13 For The Fans?
Big Bang Theory Series finale was probably the best received final there has been for a while. It provided the fans with a satisfactory ending and gave us a closure on the much focused- ‘Sheldon storyline’.
The series finale which aired in May 2019 ended with Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons) and his wife Amy (Mayim Bialik) winning a Nobel Price. Sheldon gave an emotional speech which left the fans in tears revealing how much his friends truly mean to him. We also got some closure on Leonard and Penny as it was revealed that they are expecting a baby together.
For Sheldon, the character arc that we have seen him go through has truly been a delight to watch and when Sheldon finally won a Nobel Prize we felt like we had won it with him. And we were there when Sheldon finally realised it was love what he felt for Amy actually was, we all together had a collective “Well, yeah Sheldon you do” moment.
So What Should We Expect?
What we should be expecting is well, nothing. Not for the near future.
The show creators Chuck Lorre and Brad Prady said that once they knew that Jim Parson aka Sheldon was not coming back it was clear to them that there is no point in stretching the show without the lead.
But with Sheldon finally admitting his feelings for Amy and a baby on the way for Leonard and Penny, it would sure have been exciting for the fans to delve further in these characters lives. (and an escape from our own perhaps) which is something the cast and creators agree on. Chuck Lorre stated in an interview that a reboot or a spin-off is of course possible and something they would definitely like to pursue for Big Bang given the fan following.
Actor Kaley Cuoco who plays Penny on the show told Entertainment Tonight that she can’t believe that show is ending and is hoping for a reboot soon.
Naturally, saying good-bye to them has been hard but what is harder is to believe that we may never get a chance to hang out with this gang of people, ever again.

Maybe, one can hope for a revival, a reboot somewhere in the future. What do you think? Was that goodbye or can we expect some spin-offs from the Big Bang? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
