With the massive success of Game of Thrones, fans were ecstatic when a prequel was announced. But later, according to popular reports, it got shelved as HBO did not like the pilot despite editing. Well, all rumours have been put to rest now. Game of Thrones official Twitter handle has announced that a prequel, ‘House of the Dragon’ is coming to town.
Westeros, Winterfell and the Whitewakers are all set to take over HBO with ‘House of the Dragon’
This new series will take fans 300 years before the events of the original series took place.
Confirming its arrival the Twitter handle announced, “#HouseOfTheDragon, a #GameofThrones prequel is coming to @HBO. The series is co-created by @GRRMSpeaking and Ryan Condal. Miguel Sapochnik will partner with Condal as showrunner and will direct the pilot and additional episodes. Condal will be writing the series.”

The president of HBO programming, Casey Bloys said in a statement, “The ‘Game of Thrones’ universe is so rich with stories. We look forward to exploring the origins of House Targaryen and the earlier days of Westeros along with Miguel, Ryan, and George.”
