It was a day to remember for Roger Federer.
The tennis star from Switzerland made a glorious return to the grand slam after an absence of three long years. His fans were there to support him in full throttle.
Federer said, “Every seat was taken in the house as I walked out. The crowds were really full and they were already chanting the name. There was definitely a bit of a buzz here. Twenty years since my first time and 10 years since my first and only win here and having missed four editions, it’s a big deal for Paris, and for me, too. Of course, it’s great.”
Federer was set to play in the French Open 2016 but he withdrew due to an injury. Later, he skipped the grand slams of 2017 and 2018 to get ready for grass and hard court seasons.
