America’s favorite post apocalypse show The Walking Dead will be back for its 11th season, but what’s more is, the show will add a new character from the comic books.
The Andrew Lincoln-starring AMC show The Walking Dead completed its tenth season last year. Fans found a reason to rejoice when it was renewed by AMC for an eleventh season.

It will also complete its tenth anniversary this year as the show debuted way back in October 2010. There is a new actress for the 11th season and she will play a character from the comic book storyline. Here are all the updates.
Who’s new in season 11?
Adding to the already high-tier list of cast members will be She’s gotta have it actress Margot Bingham. She will feature in the Commonwealth storyline but it is unclear which character she would take on. This hasn’t stopped the fans from speculating: they are expecting her to play Stephanie from the comic books.
Stephanie will be seen on screen alongside other TWD characters Ezekiel, Eugene and Princess, to name some. Stephanie is a part of the newly discovered group which goes by the name ‘Commonwealth’ and is quite unlike the cannibals and mass murderers of the past in the show.
Another thing different about the Commonwealth is that it is a full-on human society. The Commonwealth had come into contact with Eugene’s group in the last season.
Here’s how things will pan out in season 11
It should not come as a surprise to fans that filming for the show is going nowhere due to the coronavirus lockdowns. It’s not just The Walking Dead that has seen its production halted; the other two shows in the franchise have also seen a stop in filming activities.

Angela Kang added that the next season will focus more on Lauren Cohan’s character Maggie and her struggles to keep the Hilltop community together as they undergo brutal attacks from the outside. “Even as we’re working on season 11, we’ve got so much great stuff planned for her.” were her exact words.
Season 11 will also delve deeper into the back stories of Daryl and Negan, and how Daryl gradually comes to terms with accepting the good things Negan has contributed to the community.
When will season 11 air?
“We’re continuing to work on the future season remotely” said Angela Kang in an interview with a leading magazine, when asked about the release date for the next season.
Right now it seems like the release date is not clear even among the show’s cast and staff members. Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who plays the role of Negan, said that the next (11th) season will be a big waiting game and that “we would have to wait and see how it happens as it happens”.
What will be the cast?
Nothing could make up for Andrew Lincoln’s departure from the series as he had played the iconic character of Rick Grimes from a full nine seasons on the show, but the good news is that Lauren Cohan will be back for the eleventh season as Maggie.
Andrew Lincoln, however, is not the only exiting actor. Danai Gurira, who played Michonne, will also not be returning to the show. Kang has said the “door remains open if need be” in an interview. The rest of the cast can be relied upon to return.
