Parisian pastries, photogenic destinations, tempting haute couture, the cliche do not seem to end. Take our money and bring them more!
You can absolutely not think of New York without being reminded of Darren Star’s groundbreaking American sitcom ‘Sex and the city’. You’d be lying if you say otherwise, after all, who isn’t mesmerised with Manhattan’ fashion and Carrie’s Manolo Blahniks! Darren did it fine and the man has struck again. Only this time, it is in the city of love. Yep, as cliche as it sounds, isn’t it sorta true? Well, that’s Paris and I don’t know about you but
Who knows!

Season 1 of ‘Emily in Paris’ has plenty of cliches but who’s to complain!
After all, we could all use a dramatic tour of the city to live our fantasies, now that we’re stuck within the four walls of our houses. A respite from monotony, ‘Emily in Paris’ is about a young girl who moves to Paris to offer an “American point of view” to a luxury advertising firm Savoir. While taking the social media game of the clients up a notch, Emily finds herself in a Chambre de bonne with a hot-chef-cum-neighbour, Gabriel, who cooks her some real fine breakfast. French fantasy alert!
Emily is often seen strolling in breathtaking gardens and having dinners in expensive restaurants clad in haute couture. (But isn’t that what our sweet Darren is all about!)
She becomes somewhat of an influencer on Instagram which gets her some really good clients for Savoir. While she plays a brilliant social media manager for them, it gets a tad bit tricky to manage her own life. Having been labelled as the American who’s all work and no play, of course, she wants to teach a thing or two to French.
However, caught up in a love triangle between Gabriel and Mathieu, Emily has a lot on her plate. Gabriel’s girlfriend Camille only adds to concoction that has been brewing.
Season 1 ended with Gabriel not leaving for Normandy, so we can probably predict all the sweet and spice that the upcoming season will offer on a platter.
Forget cliffhangers, what’s it gonna be in the next season?
‘Emily in Paris’ has garnered a notable fan base. We could only be hopeful that Netflix soon announces the renewal officially. So, what can be expected from season 2?
Darren Star, in an interview with Oprah Magazine, said,
“In season 2, she’s [Emily] going to be more of a part of the fabric of the world she’s living in. She’ll be more of a resident of the city. She’ll have her feet on the ground a little more. She’s making a life there.”

Of course, it gets a little predictable with Gabriel and Emily cosying up to each other by the end of season 1. However, with Camille still in the scene, things may spice up a bit.
If you remember, Gabriel was pretty pleased to see Camille and Emilly together in a bed in an Instagram post. Another giveaway was when Emily accidentally gave a peck on Camille’s lips, to which Camille said that she wasn’t sorry. Will something happen between the three of them? Well, only time will tell.
Lucas Bravo gave some major hints in an interview with Cosmopolitan,
“We planted a few seeds about different characters. Like Camille, when she kisses Emily on the mouth, and she’s like, ‘Oh, I’m not sorry.’ And then when [Emily and Camille] they’re in bed, and I’m liking the picture, it’s all little seeds. Anything could happen between the three of them. I think Darren [Star, the show’s creator] wants this second season to be really open-minded. He wants to explore different things and make it realistic of what the world is now.”
As far as predictability goes, although some fans are shipping Mathieu and Emilly, many are pinning on Gabriel and her to be the endgame.
Sylvie (Emily’s boss) is warming up to her, so a little girl party could be in the cards.
Who are we going to see in ‘Emily in Paris’ season 2?

- Lucas Bravo – Gabriel
- William Abadie – Antione Lambert
