MS Dhoni is taking his duties seriously and going on patrolling duty for 15 days
Former cricket captain, MS Dhoni is all set to undertake his patrolling and guard duties in Kashmir. He will start from July 31 and will be posted as an honorary lieutenant colonel until August 15 with the Territorial Army’s 106 TA Battalion (Para).

Moreover, the cricketer will be deployed in Pulwama under the Victor Force of the Rashtriya Rifles. A senior officer told that it was the cricketer who has requested for a patrolling duty, “Dhoni had requested Army Headquarters that he would like to take on patrolling, guard and post duties, as also stay with the troops of the TA battalion. It has been approved.”
Army Chief, Bipin Rawat, is quite confident of Dhoni and thinks that he will protect the citizens on a ground level, “I don’t think we will need to protect him, he will protect the citizens and garrison entrusted to his task”
The Army Chief explained, “When a citizen of India wants to don the military uniform then he has to also be prepared to fulfill the task for which the uniform has been assigned to him. MS Dhoni has carried out his basic training and we know that he will be able to accomplish the task.”
Furthermore, he added, “In fact, he will be protecting a lot of other people because he will now be performing with the 106 Territorial Army battalion (Para). It is a very good battalion and they have been performing a line of communication duties, static protection and he will be a part of it.”
Dhoni was rewarded with the honorary rank of a Lieutenant Colonel in 2011.
