The Marvel Cinematic Universe is entering a new era with the next Fourth Phase and fans are not holding back from their requests to see Daredevil return to the screen.
And one of the really interesting thing about this next era is that MCU is really open to anything on the table. Of course, we’ve been already introduced to some of the slew of Disney+ shows(She-hulk, Captain America, Loki) and a whole number of movies(Captain Marvel, Guardians of The Galaxy) as well.
The new era also means that we might not see a number of the older characters returning which gives room for a new era of superheroes and villains to keep us entertained.

What Is The Future For MCU Looking Like?
Looking back on the Netflix series Daredevil which started in 2015 it wasn’t a massive blockbuster hit for the MCU like the other series perhaps. But it was still a series loved by a lot of people.
And now there are rumours swirling around that Kevin Feige is on board for bringing back some of the characters back one way or another.
The characters could be back on some Disney Plus show or in any of the MCU movies and will probably be more seen by the fans than what we’ve enjoyed so far.
In Daredevil, at the end of the series we saw Murdock come out of hiding after going missing after the events of another series from Marvel, The Defenders take place. During this time period, Murdock had turned into a broken man having made a tough decision between staying on as Daredevil or devote his life to being a lawyer.
This dilemma could very easily play into a movie for MCU. The plot is dark, interesting, gritty which would made it perfect for the big-screen. But there are problems to this theory.

The problem lies with Netflix and the world of heavy competition between streaming apps of course. There is a contract that states no one except Netflix can use the characters and the actors from the series two to three years after the show officially ends.
Which means we could potentially see characters like Daredevil appear as early as 2021. And we haven’t got a whiff of anything of this sort in the making.
Why MCU Might Take This Route
The thing with MCU though is that they know how to sell a character to the audiences. They could still take only the good elements from the Daredevil series and turn it into something that the fans will enjoy. These characters still very much exist in the MCU and are better than just being side lined in the back.
Another very interesting parameter of Daredevil/Murdock is his relationship with Black Widow in the comic book series. They were linked together in San Francisco where Murdock was working as a lawyer. The affair ended although the pair continued to be friends.
Are we looking at a potential Daredevil- Black Widow crossover here? The pair fighting a common together, perhaps?
It is possible just like anything else in the world for it to happen and a stand-alone Black Widow movie could very well indicate her character having a much more involved role in Phase Four for the MCU. (The stuff of our dreams, if you may!)
I guess only time can tell if Marvel decides to go this way which is obviously the right way. Until then, only the chat room discussions of Reddit shall provide us some respite.
