After getting fired from his own show in 2011, Charlie Sheen is now desperate to make a comeback with Two and A Half Men season 13. But how far is it possible?
Imagine a situation, where you are under influence, make a stupid mistake, and pass out. Next morning, you wake up and realise that the stupidity from the night before has cost your whole life. Sucks, right?
- But the show must go on…
- Two and A Half Men Reboot is solely Charlie Sheen’s wish
- Is a revival really possible?
The exact same thing happened with Two and A Half Men’s Charlie Sheen when in February 2011, CBS and Warner Bros terminated his contract and killed his career-building character Charlie Harper for extensive drug abuse and publicly abusing show creator Chuck Lorre. Now that Sheen got his life together, he is struggling to make a comeback with a Two and A Half Men Reboot.
But the show must go on…
After Sheen’s firing, Ashton Kutcher was hired in the following season as Walden Schmidt, the billionaire who buys Charlie’s house after his death, to save the show. While fans have loved Charlie Sheen as the original one of the Two and a Half Men, Ashton Kutcher as Walden was adored as well.
However, Ashton Kutcher was not what rattled Sheen, it was the way Charlie Harper’s character was declared dead. Soon after the firing, Sheen threatened Lorre with a litigation case against him and managed to land a settlement deal of $25 million from the latter and Warner Bros.
Now that Sheen is adamant to do justice by his character, is there any way possible for him to improve his relationship with Lorre?
Two and A Half Men reboot is solely Charlie Sheen’s wish
Expressing his wish to return to the sets of Two and A Half Men, Sheen said, “Of course [I would like it to]. As long as everybody involved is alive and kicking, there’s definitely a possibility. Also, there’s a trend towards reboots these days. It doesn’t have to go on for another five years, it would just be nice to do a couple of seasons and end it as it should have originally.”
That’s not all, he has even found a slot for the show to return as well. Through his recent tweet, he tried to capitalize on the sudden cancellation of highly-rated US sitcom Roseanne due to its racism controversy, stating, “Adios Roseanne! Good riddance. Hashtag NOT Winning. The runway is now clear for OUR reboot.” Supporting this notion, co-star Jon Cryer retweeted Sheen’s post with a comment, “What could possibly go wrong?”
Is revival really possible?
So if revival is to actually happen, Two and a Half Men maker Lorre has to be ready to forgive Sheen for what he did. Not only that, Sheen also has to find a way to undo the death of Harper.
In 2018, Charlie Sheen gave an olive branch by saying, “I want to mend!” But till now, there hasn’t been any news on whether Lorre has accepted the olive branch not. So, until that happens no one can surely say whether Two and a Half Men will return or not. What do you think? Should Chuck Lorre forgive Charlie Sheen and bring back the famous sitcom?
