Chris Evans to be back as Captain America in MCU?
Russo Brothers and the team at Marvel left us with no complaints about the way they allowed Captain America to retire from Avengers duty. But fans haven’t had enough of Captain America’s heroics. Now he is Worthy too, fans want to see some Mjolnir thunder play.
In an interview after Endgame, Chris Evans, when asked about playing Captain America in future MCU movies, said, “You never say never. I love the character. I don’t know.” This has given some serious hopes to the fans of Captain America, and now they are waiting for Chris Evans to be back as Captain America in MCU again.
Captain America’s journey in MCU till Endgame
From skinny Steve Rogers to Captain America to staying frozen for half a century, and then to leading Avengers in winning their Endgame, Captain America was at the crux of everything in MCU, on-screen and off-screen. “Captain America: The First Avenger” was the first movie featuring Captain America in MCU. It was one of the most critically acclaimed movies too. The legacy of the first movie continued and the trilogy of Captain America became the most loved trilogy of all in the MCU.
We have seen our man leading Avengers to their win during every invasion. And when he was broken after Infinity War, we felt the pain. Thus, it’s not easy for the fans of Captain America aka Steve Rogers to simply bid goodbye to him while he’s still alive in MCU. Fans are wondering if there’s still any hope for Chris Evens to be back in MCU as Steve Rogers and Captain America.
“Avenger’s Assemble” in Captain Marvel 2 or Black Window will bring back Chris Evans as Captain America in MCU.
Currently, MCU is waiting for the production and release of Captain Marvel 2 and Black Window respectively. Both the movies are supposedly going to take place in the past i.e. before Endgame. Black Window is supposedly going to take place either between “Avengers Infinity War” and “Avengers Endgame”, or earlier in MCU timeline after “Avengers”.

In any case, there’s a possibility that we might see Chris Evans as Captain America in a cameo appearance in Black Window. We can either see Chris Evans as Steve Rogers in his mourning state after Infinity War, or Captain America throwing his Frisbee when he wasn’t behind any Infinity Stone.
In the case of Captain Marvel 2, the movie might take place after the timeline of first Captain Marvel in MCU. Carol Danvers is back on earth, and as per the comics, she’ll be working with the SHIELD. It’s during the time when Captain America was also working with SHEILD. In the comics, we have seen Captain Marvel and Captain America working together for quite a long time and a part 2 cameo isn’t out of question.
Thus, there’s a possibility that Chris Evans might play Captain America again in Captain Marvel 2. If anyone of these two possibilities becomes reality in MCU, then we’ll be able to see Steve Rogers back in MCU as Captain America.
Falcon & Winter Soldier to have Chris Evans as Captain America in MCU for the last time.
Steve Rogers, after spending a happy love life with Peggy came back as an old man in “Avengers Endgame”. He was done with the duties of Captain America. Thus while retiring, he handed over his responsibilities, his legacy, and his Shield to Falcon.
Now, as we know that Steve Rogers isn’t dead yet, at least we haven’t seen him die, so he will be around in the town. Also, Falcon has been his buddy for quite a long in the MCU, so it doesn’t make sense for him to not visit old Cap during any of his recent future MCU show or movie.
So, it’s quite possible that we might see Steve Rogers in “Falcon & Winter Soldier”. What’s also possible is that when Falcon visits Steve Roger next time, he might just borrow his Captain America shield to pose for one last time for us.
Or, he might take us and Flacon on a flashback ride of his journey as Captain America in an alternate timeline after returning all the Infinity Stones. In any case, we might get to see Chris Evans back as Captain America in the MCU to play a cameo in Falcon & Winter Soldier apart from Captain Marvel 2.
