Quick recap to what went down in the season 10 finale
Blue Bloods Season 10 ended on quite an emotional note that made fans wonder if there would be a new season to further unwrap the “family secrets”. The beginning of the season finale of the series shows Sean curious to know who that mysterious first cousin is, about whom he found out through a DNA network. Reagen takes it upon himself as yet another case to solve; he uses his detective skills to find out more details about this recently learned blood relative.
The mystery begins to unwrap by itself when Frank Reagen gets a request from a woman named Paula Hill to get a transfer for her son, a detective in firearms, to a safer assignment. It doesn’t take too long for Hill to reveal to Frank that her son’s father is Joe Reagen. She further explains to him that Joe and herself had a fling when they were young, she kept her pregnancy a secret but chose to name her son after his father.
Frank finally gets to meet his newly introduced grandson and realises that Joe loves working in firearms. Consequently, Paula concludes that Frank won’t transfer him as she had requested. Following that, she tells him not to contact them ever again. However, Joe and Sean get in touch which eventually leads to a family dinner.
Meanwhile, Eddie and Jamie find an abandoned newborn baby. Upon finding out who the mother is, they discover that the infant’s mother panicked after an infant trafficking ring sought her baby, and left him for someone to protect him. After the mother-son reunion, Eddie confesses that he would like to seriously consider having children with Jaime.
What will season 11 be like?
In continuation of where the last season ended, what could possibly be in season 11? With newly formed relationships, solving important major cases, to having new babies, the new instalment will hopefully be worth a watch!
Fans are beyond curious to know what’s in store and have predicted various storylines for the upcoming season.
“I want Eddie and Jamie to have beautiful babies already. It is sooooo long overdue. I can’t wait to see what’s going to happen. I hope it will be as good as the previous seasons”, tweeted a fan on Twitter.
Another fan tweeted saying, “It seems like everything is making better sense now. I like how season 10 ended and I really really really want Danny and Baez to make it happen till the end. They deserve it. When will season 11 release @CBS? Please confirm ALREADY!”
Season 11 release date confirmation
Even though there are speculations that season 10 could release this fall, it doesn’t seem as plausible. According to online reports, unlike the rest of the series that released 22 episodes per season, the tenth season had to end with only 19 episodes.
The coronavirus pandemic has immensely affected the industry and, as a result, all productions were forced to temporarily shut down till any further notice. While fans would love to see the Raegen men and others back on screen as soon as possible, the chances of season 11 releasing this fall are fairly thin.
