The Marvel-lous Superhero
Captain Marvel entered the universe pretty late, but with a bang. The fiery superhero was Nick Fury’s favourite. When he sent out a signal to her while disintegrating under Thanos ‘culling snap’, we knew someone special was going to enter our universe; and she did.
As she aggressively questions the Avengers dressed to the tee in her costume, we can’t help but be in awe of Captain Marvel, the then unnamed avenger. Well, even her costume grabbed our eyes.
Till now, we could only be ecstatic at the elasticity of Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow’s gorgeous black attire, but now we had a new female superhero to gawk at and be inspired from. Captain Marvel’s costume was surely eye-grabbing.
Who designed Captain Marvel’s Costumes?
If you have watched the movie, you know who helped Captain Marvel design her kickass costume; Monica, who is the daughter of Maria Rambeau, Carol aka Captain Marvel’s oldest friend. However, do you know who helped in putting together Captain Marvel’s actual costume? Well, let’s take it from the person who was designing the costumes, visualising it every step of the way.

Andy Park, Marvel Studios Director of Visual Development, had quite a few designs in mind while keeping Carol Denvers’s costume in mind. After all, Captain Marvel may have been the last to hit the screen, but she really had been around for a long time, if we go by the timeline.
With the power of tesseract running through her veins, she has immense power which doesn’t even blink or waver when faced with Thunderstorm, Thor’s second weapon. Of course, her costume had to be something which stood apart, in shade and shape.
The twist in the tale
Andy Kart shared some of the preliminary sketches of Captain Marvel’s costumes that he had envisaged, and like the hungry fans that we are, we pounced on every detail. And boy, was it worth it? Yes, every bit.
After witnessing Captain Marvel’s heroics in the Endgame and knowing that Captain Marvel 2 is on the cards, we don’t mind the history behind the histrionics of the superhero. Captain Marvel’s preliminary costumes were more or less the same, albeit with a difference in her belt, or what would go in the place of it. Take a look.
Well, we wouldn’t have minded any of these, but let’s just say that we love the final look and the practicality of it. We’re glad Andy went with the belt; chic and cool. Well, you can’t expect anything other than the best from a person who has been curating one superhero chartbuster look after the other, for almost two decades now. Yes, that’s the time Any Kart has been with Marvel.

Captain Marvel’s Costume Saga has surely been a legendary one. Why not? After all she is pretty legendary herself too. Not everyone has the courage to look Thanos in the face and even endure his headbutt without as much as a flinch.
Our Carol did that and how! We only hope that she would not have been knocked out. Then probably Iron Man would still be here, or who knows how the end of the Endgame may have turned out?
What’s next for Carol Denvers?
As we mentioned earlier, our favourite Avenger superhero will soon be back on the screens, with her second solo venture. Marvel has announced that Captain Marvel 2 would be hitting the screens on Feb 18, 2022. And we, for starters, just cannot wait.
