When Tom didn’t recognize Princess Mary
Tom Branson collided with Princess Mary on the outskirts of Downton and failed to recognize her. But on the other hand, Mary recognized Branson and spoke in great lengths about his late wife Lady Sybil. But it is astounding that Tom had no clue he was in conversation with Princess Royal.
Major Chetwode and Tom Branson
The entire segment about Major Chetwode’s assassination is confusing. Chetwode, an English revolutionary with Irish sympathies conspired to kill King George. And in lieu of it, he summons Branson because he is a recognized Irish socialite. However, it is still unclear what he needed Tom for.

Daisy and Andy
Daisy and Andy have had each other’s back during the show’s run. In fact, Daisy even helped Andy surmount his illiteracy. Therefore, is it possible that Andy and Daisy will be the next of Downton Abbey’s servants to get married? And it is only possible if there is a Downton Abbey 2.
What happened to Carson’s palsy
Carson retires from his duties as Downton’s royal butler due to his illness. But it was not once mentioned if Carson’s palsy was actually cured or not.
Aunt Rosamund and Lady Rose’s absence from the Royal Visit
It’s a big question that neither Aunt Rosamund nor Lady Rose was invited for the King’s visit. It’s a bit surprising since Aunt Rosamund lives in London but any info on her whereabouts wasn’t mentioned. However, Lady Rose’s absence is given since she lives in America and perhaps didn’t have ample time to make it to Downton on short notice.

Barrow’s Arrest
Barrow is gay and has long kept his identity in the closet. However, he learns that there are a few selective places where gay men hang out freely. Thus, Barrow arrives at one such hideous nightclub but only a few minutes apart, the place is raided by cops and Barrow is arrested. However, not once do the Crawleys come to learn of this incidence.
Lady Violet
The audiences are keen to know whether Lady Violet’s revelation to Mary that she was dying implies Maggie Smith is exiting Downton Abbey.
Mary’s quandary about keeping Downton open
Lady Mary, the head of the Downton estate, was strictly committed to safeguarding Downton for her son George. Then why was Mary in two minds about closing Downton all of a sudden?
