The start of Phase 4 for MCU proved the beginning of a new era with a number of movies and shows lined up. And a Captain Marvel 2 film seemed inevitable when we saw Carol Danvers fighting with Thanos in Avengers: Endgame and the question thus arise, when will we get to see it?

Fans were obviously quick to start some other discussions as well. How powerful IS Captain Marvel to deflect a direct attack from the likes of Thanos himself?
Well, the movie hits the theatres on July 29, 2022 as tweeted by MCU tipster Charles Murphy and while some of our questions will be answered some we might have to answer ourselves. (here’s to hoping we’re out of the Pandemic window by then)
Thanos Vs. Captain Marvel
Captain Marvel has proven to be one of the most powerful superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In the final climatic battle between The Avengers and Thanos, Captain Marvel comes face to face with the devil himself.
While the avengers seem to be struggling with the army of Thanos, Captain Marvel quickly descends herself in to the battle having flown across the cosmos to get there (phew!). It is quickly apparent how powerful our Captain is as she quickly brings down Thanos flagship proving critical in helping the Avengers procure the Infinity Gauntlet.
So, if she is the strongest most powerful person (can we use ‘person’?) in the MCU, How was Thanos able to punch her away?
Only one theory is probable, he uses the Power Stone from the Infinity Gauntlet.

Thanos using the energy from the power stone plus his own strength and power combined may have caught Captain Marvel off-guard during which Thanos was able to throw her away. It was a sneaky hit from him. Regardless, she was able to slow him long enough for Iron Man to come around and finish what she had started. (Cue for our collective tears please)
While she may have not gotten the power boost she still remains to be the most powerful in the grand scheme of things.
And while Thanos is not coming back, Captain Marvel is set to return to the theatres on July 29, 2022 and prove once again why she remains to be the single-most powerful superhero in the MCU.
What Can We Expect From Captain Marvel Two?
The cast of the upcoming movie hasn’t been revealed as of now but it’s safe to say our half human- half kree will be back to do some serious ass-kicking in 2022 (which honestly feels decades away).
The first part was set in 1995 and saw Danvers stranded on earth for a mission separated from her team and in comes agent Fury.
Nobody knows what the plot of the second movie is going to look like but people are betting good money on the return of a very important character in the Captain Marvel saga. Monica Rambeau; is the daughter of Danvers’ friend, Carol and her daughter Monica who thought that Danvers was dead for the six years that she wasn’t on Earth.
Now the first movie was set in the 1990s but fans are guessing after Captain Marvel’s stint in Avengers: Endgame, this movie could presumably be set in the modern day landscape. And if Captain Marvel Two is set in modern day, Monica will be a 30 year old woman.
Monica is a key character from the Captain Marvel world, once adopting the moniker herself in the comics before moving on to other superhero identities and you would only know that if you divulge yourself in the Marvel Comic book series as well.
But there are still so many questions that remain, who is the villain going to be?
What will Monica’s exact role be?
Only time will answer these questions. Until then, we’re ticking the days off of our calendars until July 29, 2022.
