The Oscar-winning actress, director, producer, writer, and our fellow gamer, Brie Larson, is also a singer. We wonder if she’s human.
We all know that Brie Larson is a phenomenal actor. Her recent work in ‘Room’ (2015) and MCU’s ‘Captain Marvel‘ is a true example of her art. A good section of her die-hard fans even know that Brie is a director, producer, and writer, at least she has tried her hands on all these filmmaking tasks. But there might be only a few fans who know that Brie was once known for her singing. Topping that, she has several singing credits from recent movies.
Brie Larson – A popstar before a Marvel star
Many of the fans don’t know the fact that Brie Larson was on the path of taking singing as her first career. Not that she wanted it, but that’s where her world was heading.
In 2003, when Brie auditioned and lost a role in ‘Peter Pan’, she recorded a song called “Invisible Girl”, possibly coming from the heartbreak. Luckily, the track started getting popular and gained some audience. And to Brie’s own surprise, it earned her a record deal.

In an interview with “Variety”, Brie once revealed: “I had no aspirations for that, but within seconds, I had a record deal. Tommy Mottola signed me, and I was being flown all over the U.S. to write songs for my album.”
In 2005, Brie released the album titled “Finally Out of P.E.”. Though it was a letdown and only sold 3,500 copies, the story behind its name is defiantly worth a mention.
Larson getting a record deal earned her an escape from P.E. classes at her school. While Larson was always used to being the teacher’s favourite, she couldn’t stand the physical education classes because her teacher was one of the few who didn’t like her. So, the latest album was rightly named as per her perception of life then.
In a tweet dated September 2017, Larson revealed that she even went on a music tour with Jesse McCartney. Sweet!
Brie still has a singer alive within her
While Brie couldn’t make anything phenomenal out of her music career, she still treats her fans with her melodies. Brie has plenty of recent soundtrack credit for her name to be called a singer. Some of her recent movie soundtrack credit includes ‘Coming Around (Hoot)’, ‘Big Rock Candy Mountain (Room)’, and several for ‘Basmati Blues’.
While we are extremely thankful that she got back to acting, and has been perusing it and thriving at it, we will always look ahead to more of her songs in future movies, and, of course, on her YouTube channel.
Before You Go
Playing Captain Marvel was one of the biggest feats of Brie Larson’s career. The movie also became the highest-grossing female-led superhero movie of all time as it crossed $1 billion. Yet Brie Larson is hated as Captain Marvel. Do you have any idea why?
