Marvel fans are more than disappointed after Disney’s decision to Oscar nominate Brie Larson for her role in ‘Avengers: Endgame’. Everyone is unsure of the decision and believe Brie Larson is not eligible for Best Supporting Actress nomination for the top grossing movie. What’s up, Disney?
Brie Larson and Captain Marvel must have really amazing powers to have been nominated for an Oscar with her 10-minute role in ‘Avengers: Endgame’. Fans are disappointed and fumed at Disney’s decision.
Brie Larson has been surrounded by controversy ever since she set foot in Marvel Cinematic Universe with her ‘Avengers: Endgame’ role
Zero to 13 for Academy Awards 2020
Disney has included a whopping 13 Avengers Endgame star for Oscars. This comes after fans started a petition to include Robert Downey Jr for the nomination list. And look at what Disney did!
Disney included 8 contenders for Best Supporting Actor and 5 for Best Supporting Actress (which includes Brie Larson and Captain Marvel’s Avengers role). Too much “support”, Disney. Something sure seems fishy. It almost seems like they are using the trick that Game Of Thrones did by putting everyone under the “supporting” category.
The most controversial among these names is turning out to be that of Brie Larson and Captain Marvel for her role in ‘Avengers: Endgame”. Actresses considered for Oscar nomination: Scarlett Johansson, Gwyneth Paltrow, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, and Brie Larson.
Too much Support
Just like Brie Larson, some of the other Avengers names in the Oscar nomination list are not justified. Take, for example, Don Cheadle. Scarlett Johansson gave a powerful performance in Black Widow but her Avengers role was limited. For all the time she should (and could) have been nominated, this is not the one.
Brie Larson’s Avengers role
Fans are in shock and dismay at the same time after seeing Brie Larson’s name on the Oscar consideration list for her ‘Avengers: Endgame’ role. The reason was clear and simple: Brie Larson’s Avengers role was barely for 10 minutes in the whole movie. While the actress is already an Oscar winner, it did not seem fair to put her on the list based on just 10 minutes.
If Brie Larson and Captain Marvel somehow manage to win the Oscar, she sure would have real-life superpowers to do it. You can see the considerations for Oscars here.
