Coronavirus has impacted the normal lives of common people. More than that, it has globally hit businesses resulting in losses. But Marvel comic books have decided to turn superheroes for retailers. Scroll down to find out how.
Black Widow, Wolverine, Captain Marvel, and more superheroes are here to rescue the retailers from the massive losses that they are incurring as a result of coronavirus lockdown. While on the one hand people are only buying basic commodities and avoiding going out, Marvel fans are also not motivated to go out and buy a new bundle of comic books. All this will change after Marvel Entertainment’s new decision which, according to the company, will help the retailers cover up their losses due to coronavirus.

Black Widow, Captain Marvel, Wolverine against Coronavirus
As a joyous piece of news, (amidst all the sad and upsetting news of coronavirus), Marvel Entertainment President Dan Buckley has announced deep discounts on upcoming comic books. Dan Buckley sent a message of assurance to Direct Marvel comic book retailers to tone down the effects of coronavirus pandemic. As reported by Newsarama, the president sent out the usual weekly email to retailers but with the announcement that there would be “extensive deep discounts” on Marvel comics that are scheduled to go live from 18 March to 8 April.
During the coronavirus lockdown, theaters are shut. And thus, there are no new releases in the near future of Marvel. The latest release of Marvel Phase 4 was that of Black Widow.
Retailers in peril due to coronavirus, Marvel comic books to the rescue
Due to coronavirus, the Black Widow release date is delayed. The Marvel Cinematic Universe has become a profitable asset of Marvel. It has helped in adding fans to the franchise. But with no movies for the next (approximately) 6 months, the corona fever might cool down the Marvel fever. In such a time, fresh and gripping content from Marvel comic books will keep the fans motivated to wait for the next movie. And if there are discounts offered on upcoming Marvel comic books, it will be a cherry on the top.
So, it is a win-win situation for both, the retailers and Marvel as a whole entity. But the real winners here are the fans. From 18 March to 8 April 2020, there are some of the most intriguing comic books in Marvel’s pipeline. A look at the Marvel calendar can prepare you for a happy and healthy lockdown. In fact, going back to the question of who the real winner is, it is surely not coronavirus.
Pick up your masks and sanitizer bottles and head straight to the store to buy these heavily discounted comic books.
