Encephalitis has taken the lives of over 100 children in just 16 days
Bihar is having a medical crisis. Lives of children seem to have no concern for the authorities. The death toll has reached 103 in just 16 days. Are these just deaths now? Aren’t they murders being conducted by red tapes and corruption? The lack of measures taken by the Bihar government in the matter is shameful.
103 children died in 16 days. Who is to blame? Lychees or Bihar Government?
Ministers are doing futile meetings and rounds to hospitals. But all this is of no use as nothing has changed still. In one such meeting, the health minister’s insensitive attitude was unbelievable. Mangal Pandey, Bihar’s health minister, was seated beside Union Health Minister, Harsh Vardhan. But he was more concerned about the India vs Pakistan match. “How many wickets have fallen?”
But that’s not all. Someone even replied to the insensitive question, “Four wickets down.”
In fact, MoS Health and family welfare, Ashwini Kumar Choubey, was apparently sleeping during media briefing!
Indeed, there is an over-cooked explanation all ready and served hot!
But in reality, more than 100 wickets have been lost to encephalitis. And they are still counting. While Bihar is stuck from encephalitis on one side, heat waves are taking lives too. The scorching summer has taken over 70 lives.
