In a sea of revivals, ‘The Big Bang Theory’ is swimming to the shore with Season 13. But it seems like only Amy and Sheldon will make it.
‘The Big Bang Theory’ has survived a decade of never faltering views with audiences tuning in every week. Millions of people relied on the gang of nerds and Penny for a daily dose of laughter and respite from their everyday lives.
Highlights:
- ‘The Big Bang Theory’ back with a bang
- Amy and Sheldon make it work in Season 13
- Shamy is back with a bang
And, after twelve very successful seasons, ‘The Big Bang Theory’ gave its final goodbye. The showrunner, Chuck Lorre, also released a statement for the loyal fans of the show promising that the show will always be there waiting to make a comeback for the fans. And, if that promise holds some substance, (we’d like to think it does), ‘The Big Bang Theory’ might be making a comeback … but who will return?
‘The Big Bang Theory’ will be back with a bang
The sitcom, which after a year is still an entertainment staple, has been keeping the fans entertained during the coronavirus lockdown. ‘The Big Bang Theory’ has a unique blend of emotions and humour and knows exactly which one of the two to present their audience with. And, fans were left rather sad and disappointed when Jim Parsons, who played the eccentric-genius-weirdo, Sheldon Cooper, decided to call it quits after Season 12 of ‘The Big Bang Theory’.

Chuck Lorre, the show-runner and creator of the show, was as blindsided by this decision as the audience were when they heard that their favourite sitcom was to never return. But, Lorre ended his goodbye note informing fans that a revival is always in the realm of possibility if the fans are up for it. And it seems like the fans are up for it, after all! The rumour mills online have pointed that a certain couple from the show might be returning to ‘The Big Bang Theory’ in a brand new 13th season.
Amy and Sheldon make it work in ‘The Big Bang Theory’ Season 13
In a season of revivals, nostalgia is at play with shows like ‘Friends’ making a comeback with a one-hour special on HBO Max, 16 years after it ended. It only makes sense to revive a show like ‘The Big Bang Theory’, which remains ingrained in the minds of its fans even after one year of its finale season.
And, Mayim Bialik, who played the smart-sassy-brilliant biologist in ‘The Big Bang Theory’ agrees. In a recent interview, Bialik agreed that a revival for ‘The Big Bang Theory’ is getting more likely than ever, thanks to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Bialik informed that CBS wants to fall back into something that will be a guaranteed success to make up for the losses incurred during the lockdown, and is in the talks to do the same. With an indefinite number of shows shelved or postponed, ‘The Big Bang Theory’ remains a show the network can effortlessly fall back on to garner up high success rates. And, the one primary character, around whom the story has revolved, more than the others, is Sheldon Cooper. So, are Amy and Sheldon making it back?

Shamy is back with a Bang
Amy and Sheldon, who tied the knot in Season 11 and were together for nine seasons out of the twelve, are making a comeback in ‘The Big Bang Theory’ Season 13, according to various rumours. The couple’s long-drawn romance evolved way too slowly on the show but became one of the main reasons for drawing in millions of fans back every week.
The series finale saw the pair winning a Nobel Prize together and Sheldon finally improving when it comes to being in a relationship. Season 13 of ‘The Big Bang Theory’ will exclusively focus on the pair as their relationship grows and flourishes.
The revival though, will not be taking place any time before late 2021. So, hop on to your seats (couches) and focus on ‘The Big Bang Theory’ Season 1-12 re-run instead, which is available on Netflix. And to pinpoint, another reason why this could be the best decision, Jim Parsons and Mayim Bialik’s phenomenal chemistry works beyond the screen as well. The pair are working on a show together called ‘Call Me Kat’ which Parsons is producing, and Bialik is starring in. (Shamy are rocking the television world, it seems!)
