For the series finale, The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon will have a crossover and reunion. After the end of season 3, fans are really looking forward to the next season and hopefully a reunion.
The end of The Big Bang theory was the beginning of Young Sheldon. Didn’t Young Sheldon premiere in 2017, you ask? Of course it did. But if you’re a fan, you will agree with me when I say that we were all able to completely enjoy Young Sheldon with 100% dedication only after TBBT came to an end. Which of course, was sad to say goodbye to.

Young Sheldon is currently on its 3rd installment and last episode of the season, too! This naturally has gotten fans anticipating whether there will be a season 4 or not. But before we dive into that, let’s talk about what’s most important: the Big Bang and Young Sheldon cross-over and reunion.
What happened in the season finale?
For those who’ve watched the season finale, (and for those who’ve not yet, here’s a BIG spoiler alert!) it is now known to us that Sheldon had received a recruitment letter from Caltech offering him admission as a full-time student. Ideally, if someone’s kid was given an opportunity to study at Caltech, there wouldn’t be a second’s hesitation. However, that wasn’t the case with George Sr. and Mary Cooper.
While without a doubt both his parents were happy, the only concern they had was that they believed he was too young to leave for college. Specifically, Sheldon’s mother who was too emotional on making this very big life changing decision.

To break it down even further, as soon as the recruitment letter reached the Cooper residence, Mary Cooper was the first one to hide it away before Sheldon got his hands on them. But why did his mother do that? She clearly didn’t want him to leave for college at such a young age.

But when the little genius did get hold of the letter, the first among his parents he met was his father. He confronted his father about why he hid the letter from him only to find out that they were unsure about their decision. One of the most emotional scenes from the series has got to be the Cooper parents embracing each other while they accept a new change in their lives.
What about the Big Bang and Young Sheldon cross-over and reunion?
Imagine this: Sheldon’s having a great time at Caltech and he’s made some friends. Yes, genuine friends who are much like himself. Fast forward to when he turns 16, he receives a PhD as mentioned in TBBT, and that is where the most awaited cross-over happens.
Fans would imagine him finally meeting his real life best friends Raj, Leonard, and Howard. From there after, they all work together and that’s where their big bang theory story begins which would eventually lead them to meeting the rest of the gang: Penny, Bernadette and Amy.
Will there be a season 4?
The way things ended didn’t feel quite complete, so it goes without saying that there could be a new season in the making. Unfortunately, because of the pandemic, everything has become very uncertain.
