The National Spelling Bee competition had a never-heard-of-before EIGHT winners
The contest that has a history of 92 years produced a result that has never been heard of in any other contest. Eight kids tied for the winner’s trophy on Thursday at the Scripps National Spelling Bee.
Know thy winners-
The winners raced to the finals after 20 rounds of intensive spelling. The kids aged from 12 to 14 proved for three and a half hours that they could take almost any big word and spell it like a cakewalk. 16 kids competed in the finals at Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in Maryland
Out of which the super eight took home the prize. All of them would be awarded the prize money of $50,000 each.
So there would be eight checks going out this year. Sounds more like an Oprah thing!
