The Elvis Biopic
Baz Luhrmann, who is the film-maker behind The Great Gatsby and Moulin Rouge expressed how important it was for him to have the perfect cast, “I knew I couldn’t make this film if the casting wasn’t absolutely right, and we searched thoroughly for an actor with the ability to evoke the singular natural movement and vocal qualities of this peerless star, but also the inner vulnerability of the artist …”
“Through a journey of extensive screen testing and music and performance workshops, I knew unequivocally that I had found someone who could embody the spirit of one of the world’s most iconic musical figures.”
The biopic with Austin Butler in the lead role will explore Elvis Presley’s life. But it would be through the eyes of his 20-years-old relationship with his manager, Colonel Tom Parker. Moreover, the role of his manager would be played by Tom Hanks.
