What was The Ranch about?
Debuting in 2016, The Ranch became an instant hit in America and around the world and managed to get a 7.5 rating on IMDb. Starring Ashton Kutcher, Sam Elliot, and Danny Masterson, among many others, the show revolves around the lives of Bennetts, a dysfunctional family consisting of two brothers, their rancher father, and his estranged wife.

The American web television sitcom had the best actors and storyline and got the audience laughing till their stomachs hurt. While the series had its shares of ups and downs, it managed to survive for eight great seasons. However, with various popular shows being rebooted for newer seasons, it is quite likely that The Ranch will be renewed for season 9 soon enough.

Why did The Ranch end at season 8?
Fans were not pleased to know that their favourite show was ending and as always, found happiness in expressing their views online on social media platforms like Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and Reddit.
“I’m cancelling my subscription to Netflix due to the fact that The Ranch is cancelled” tweeted @_aleshalaurenn on Twitter. Another fan tweet read, “Looks like my plans for the ranch are cancelled… Great.. Back to my boring summer #fml.”
During an interview, actor and lead protagonist Ashton Kutcher explained that the Colorado-set series had reached its natural conclusion, and there was no intention to keep it going. “…we were going to wrap it up, so everybody had time to find their next gig” he added.
Will Ashton Kutcher make a comeback?
Even though it seems like Kutcher has been hell-bent on not making a comeback with season 9, in the same interview, he also shared that Two and a Half Men went on for two seasons more than it was originally decided upon. Perhaps, this could motivate the actor to be a part of the hopeful reboot.
Many fan tweets suggest that Two and a Half Men wasn’t right for Kutcher. “I didn’t like Walden’s character as much as I did Charlie’s. I wish they hadn’t got Ashton on board. The only thing I liked was gay representation,” expressed a fan. After a point, the show’s ratings plummeted and Ashton was not very pleased, which led him to confront showrunner Chuck Lorre about ending the show.
In comparison, it seems like The Ranch had a better running with stable ratings than Two and a Half Men ever did. So, if Kutcher were to ever make a reboot happen, it would have to be The Ranch.
Fans are curious to know if they would see their handsome tall actor on screen anytime soon. To put the curiosity to rest, Kutcher confirmed that he will the executive producer for upcoming show Going From Broke but no news of any acting in the near future has been confirmed.
