Gilmore Girls has been tarnished by A Year in The Life. Will part two of A Year in The Life change our opinion about Gilmore Girls?
Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life is set to get a second chance with part 2. What began as a warm and refreshing tale of the mother-daughter duo living in Stars Hollow, turned into an awful story when Gilmore Girls rebooted for the second innings with A Year in the Life.

Fans wish that they had never seen A Year in The Life of Gilmore Girls
It was beauty in the small details that made Gilmore Girls an obsession. But, when the show returned 10 years later with A Year in The Life, its great moments were overpowered by its flaws. Thanks to A Year in The Life, Gilmore Girls is so ruined that the same crazy fans of the series now feel cheated and wish that they had never seen the reboot series.
One Reddit user posted a long message expressing his disappointment over the reboot,

“I’ve been binge-watching the original show (I have seen it many many times) and just finished the episode of Rory’s Yale graduation. And I realized that knowing what I know about Rory’s future ruins part of the magic of the show for me. There’s no room anymore to imagine Rory and Logan eventually ending up together since she was so young when he proposed but they obviously love each other … This is just one of many things. Same goes for Lorelai and Luke. I always figured they’d get married much sooner and maybe have a kid. I keep watching the show now with the feeling of them not knowing what’s hanging over their heads and I don’t like it at all. I wish I had never seen A Year in The Life. Gilmore Girls means so much to me. I just had to share this with someone. I know many people do love that there was a revival and love (parts of) it, but I’m wondering if there are more people like me who wish they’d never seen it. It just makes me sad”.
This is just one of the comments. Trust us, there is a train of comments on social media platforms that are blatantly bashing the reboot of the, once upon a time, favourite drama Gilmore Girls. Will the second instalment, called “Part 2”, repair the lost glory of the series?

‘A Year in the Life’: How a wunderkind like Rory turned into an entitled bore
Gilmore Girls wasn’t what the vast majority of TV was in the 2000s. It didn’t make a romantic relationship its focus. Instead, Gilmore Girls was about Rory, a girl who studied hard, who loved to read and write, who wanted to be a journalist, who was smart and funny and hardworking and a good friend.
Teenage Girls aspired to be like Rory. Some even applied to journalism courses considering it a smart career for smart girls. Girls saw themselves in her, related to her struggles and her triumphs, and believed that her life became a template for them.
When Netflix announced the revival of the series, fans were excited. But as A Year in The Life went on, Rory made a lot of decisions that went against her basic characterization, that of a smart, level-headed woman.
Rory is lost and untethered in more ways than one, making a lot of bad decisions: sleeping with an engaged Logan (who continues to be the WORST!!!), refusing for some insane reason to get an apartment or at least a storage unit to put all her stuff in, and floundering in her career because of stupid reasons.
A Year in The Life clearly changed our perspective of Rory. The wunderkind Rory has now become an entitled bore for us. We hope that the next innings- A Year in the Life: Part 2- is able to change the ruined image of Gilmore Girls.
Latest updates on ‘Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life’ Part 2
Reports have it that Amy Sherman-Palladino is back to writing the second part for A Year in The Life of Gilmore Girls. If sources are to be believed, Netflix will soon announce the release dates for the next season of Gilmore Girls. We are hoping that this time Rory and Lorelai gain their lost glory back.
