Why is the time absolutely ripe for The Office reboot?
The ongoing lockdowns to flatten the Covid-19 curve changed the way people work. A majority of employees in the organised sector continued to work during the lockdown, but from home (WFH). While the IT sector is familiar with the concept, this is a first for employees in other fields.
Looking into the current scenario in workplaces, the makers of the famous sitcom The Office are considering the reboot of the series on Netflix. They want to cash on the new format of working by rebooting The Office for another season. No time is better than this time to renew the hilarious office drama that made us laugh and occasionally taught us some great lessons on working professionally.
Check who all might return in The Office work from home season?
It’s been seven years since the Dunder Mifflin Paper Company closed its doors, but the characters in The Office still rule the hearts of the audiences. Even today, we find them in our pop culture references.

Doing The Office without the original cast will disappoint the fans. The Office originally starred Steve Carell, Jenna Fischer, and John Krasinski and others who breathed life into the show. Though many have shown interest in the reboot of the famous comedy of the last decade, it would be hard to bring everyone together again.

Now that NBC has launched its new streaming service Peacock, it is easy to reboot The Office for another season. All cast members might not be available due to their prior engagements. But work from home set up can make that possible. Imagine everyone shooting at their own convenience and in their own time for ‘The Office: Work from Home’ season. Sounds great!
Release date updates on The Office Season 10
According to Bonnie Hammer, Netflix still has the rights to The Office until January 2021, so fans will have to wait until after that for any type of reboot to take place. Bonnie Hammer serves as the NBCU Chairman of Direct-to-Consumer and Digital Enterprises.
This news comes on the heels of NBC Universal pulling the iconic sitcom from Netflix to feature it on their own streaming service Peacock, which is launching in 2021.
“The Office comes back to us in January 2021,” Hammer shared.
Parade also reached out to NBCU directly regarding a release date; we’ve been told that no additional details are being released at this time.
We can expect The Office: Work from Home season on Peacock by 2021 at the earliest. Neither the makers nor the NBC network has officially confirmed the reboot of The Office. But there’s no smoke without fire. Statements from people associated with The Office hints that the reboot of The Office is happening and the premiere is not too far.
