Not only was she upset about bidding farewell to her beloved cast and crew, but now as it turns out, Cuoco has also found a new enemy in the living legend Meryl Streep who, if online reports have got it right, is happy about TBBT ending. What is it about Streep’s response to ‘The Big Bang Theory’ ending that has made Cuoco unhappy? Read on to know more.
Kaley Cuoco was a little depressed for a while
Upon hearing that ‘The Big Bang Theory’ was coming to an end, fans were disheartened to know that the geeky gang in Pasadena won’t be seen sitting on their couch eating Thai takeout on Mondays or enjoying their Halo night on Wednesdays. While most fans were happy about the way the series ended, other TBBT fans had quite a lot to complain about. Questions on why Raj is the only one who didn’t have a happy ending to why did the show end at all, continue to remain a discussion in the TBBT universe.
Along with the dedicated fans, Kaley Cuoco was one member of the TBBT cast who was deeply affected after knowing that TBBT- the show that helped the actress get her acting career on track- will not be produced anymore. As expressed in numerous interviews, Cuoco had a sudden surge of emotions that took her some time to get over.
“I went through like kind of some weird, a lot of ups and downs — almost like someone had died, in a weird way. I was just devastated, I couldn’t stop crying for days, and then I was really angry …”
Why did the TBBT end?
As confirmed by TBBT creator Chuck Lorre, the show wasn’t meant to end until season 14. In an interview with “USA TODAY”, Lorre describes how difficult it was to hold the clapper board before filming the last episode.
“I almost couldn’t do it. I didn’t really think that it would be difficult, but as soon as they put that thing in my hands, I started to choke”, says Lorre, who created the series with Bill Prady. “It was loaded with significance. It was the last take of ‘The Big Bang Theory’”, he expressed.
However, they eventually decided on not taking the idea forward as Jim Parsons had decided to move on from the show. “It was the first time in my life of doing this show that it occurred to me that I might want to not do another contract after season 12 was up”, Parsons told “The Hollywood Reporter”.
“I don’t know if it’s because I’m an Aries or just because maybe I’m in touch with myself. Whatever it is, once I had that thought, I was like, ‘Well, that’s your answer’”, he added.
Kaley Cuoco has a new enemy in Meryl Streep
This may come off as a surprise but according to online sources, it seems like Kaley Cuoco is not a big fan of Meryl Streep. With TBBT coming to an end, Kaley’s reasons to be bitter are empathized by her fans and fans of the show.
Meanwhile, Jim Parsons’ reasons to exit are also justifiable. I mean, in all fairness he did do an excellent job in the Netflix series ‘Hollywood’. His role as the villainous movie agent from the yesteryears has found fame beyond what he received as Sheldon Cooper in TBBT. One person who thinks he deserves an Emmy nomination for his work in the Netflix drama is the golden actress herself.
In an interview with “Entertainment Tonight”, showrunner Ryan Murphy shared how impressed Streep was with Parsons’ version of the ‘Dance of the Seven Veils’ from the 1908 film ‘Vision of Salomé’.
“We were in the middle of filming ‘The Prom’ when I showed her a cut of the scene and she was like, ‘Oh my god, this is so brilliant’. And if Meryl thinks you’re brilliant, that’s the best you can do”, he recalls.
So, if Cuoco is up in arms about Meryl Streep’s fondness for Parsons’ new role, then fans have some serious coxing to do to convince Kaley to get back on screen soon ASAP. But all-cause is not lost yet as the announcement of Cuoco’s upcoming miniseries ‘The Flight Attendant’ has already been made.
However, because of the coronavirus pandemic, all productions have been stalled and release dates of numerous shows and movies have been changed. Consequently, there are speculations that the upcoming thriller HBO series might release by the end of 2020.
