Chelsea have expressed their interest in the 26-year-old central defender who has recently fallen out of favor with Pep Guardiola. Stones’ current deal is set to expire in the summer of 2022. This, in addition to his poor performances, has cut the Englishman’s transfer value to as low as £20 million. City’s most recent signing Nathan Ake has added even more doubts to Stones’ future with Guardiola.
Manchester City have reportedly been in contact with Bournemouth over the potential transfer of Nathan Ake, estimated at a £35 million bargain. The left-sided centre-back is one of the most wanted names on Pep Guardiola’s wish list, as he strives to solve City’s defensive woes.
The Senegalese international has been linked with a move away from Naples for a long time, but the transfer fee proposed by Aurelio De Laurentis tends to put off the majority of the clubs’ interest.
“I have said many times, and continue saying, I am more than delighted with John Stones as a person, as a professional, everything,” Guardiola said ahead of the game against Newcastle United.
