Despite such an intense rivalry between the two, Eddie Guerrero seemed to forget that Kurt Angle was a gold medalist when he made a schoolboy error while attempting a leg dive.

At a time when the world is dealing with coronavirus concerns, many are recalling old moments to pass their time. World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) legend John Bradshaw Layfield (JBL) too recalled a famous WWE moment.
He posted on his twitter handle a moment when Eddie Guerrero admitted he made a schoolboy error for trying a leg dive on Olympic gold medalist Kurt Angle.
Eddie Guerrero Forgets Kurt Angle is a Gold Medalist
Amongst Eddie Guerrero’s several successes in WWE, one moment of foolishness stands out. Eddie Guerrero made a schoolboy error when he attempted an ankle hold on Kurt Angle, a former Olympic gold medalist.
Angle later recalled the incident and said, “He tried to leg dive me, a move you do in Olympic Wrestling. I hipped down on him and started chocking him out.”
Hence, this was a moment that Guerrero would have hoped to forget. When JBL later asked Guerrero why did he attempt a leg dive on Angle, Guerrero responded, “Because I’m stupid.” It seemed obvious who was going to come out worse in that scenario.
Angle’s Gold Medal Triumph
Kurt Angle won the Olympic gold medal at the 1996 Summer Olympic Games when he beat Abbas Jadidi in freestyle wrestling. Jadidi was stunned when he lost to Angle as Angle won the match with a broken neck.
Moreover, Angle had fractured two cervical vertebrae prior to the Olympic Games but that was not enough to keep him out.
Although Angle is vastly known for his successes in WWE, few know him for his most important triumph. Angle himself admitted that his biggest success was winning the Olympic gold medal.
Considering that Angle won the Olympic games match despite such excruciating pain, it is obvious Guerrero made a school-boy error when he attempted a leg dive on Angle.
