Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal won her first match in Thailand Open 2019.
World no. 8, Saina Nehwal beat Thailand’s Phittayaporn Chaiwan by 21-17 and 21-19.
After missing two back-to-back big BWF (Badminton World Federation) events due to injury, Nehwal outplayed Thailand’s Phitayaporn Chaiwan to reach into the second round of Women’s single category at Thailand Open 2019.

Saina Nehwal won the match comfortably by beating Phittayaporn Chaiwan in the first two sets of the match.
This is a good win for Saina after the big loss in Sudirman Cup against China’s Yufei Chen. In the New Zealand Open and Sudirman Cup, Saina Nehwal got out in a first round.
This win in her first match of Thailand Open 2019, will definitely boost her confidence.
Saina Nehwal’s next match is on August 1 against Japan’s Sayaka Takahashi.
