Sai Praneeth and Pranoy enters into the pre-quarter-final of BWF World Championships 2019
Indian shuttler HS Pranoy beat two times Olympic champion Lin Dan while Sai Praneeth beat Lee Dong Keun in the 2nd round of the BWF World Championships 2019.
After winning the 2nd round, both Praneeth and Pranoy advance to the pre-quarter-final of BWF World Championships 2019.
In the 62 minutes long match, Pranoy beat World no. 17 China’s Lin Dan. HS Pranoy beat five-time World champion China’s Lin Dan by 21-11, 13-21, 21-7. HS Pranoy lost the second set of the match by 13-21 but won the first and third set of the match comfortably.
Two days ago, HS Pranoy beat Finland’s Eetu Heino by 17-21, 21-10, 21-11 in the first round of the BWF World Championships 2019.
On the other hand, World no. 17 Praneeth beat lower-ranked opponent (Lee Dong Keun) by 21-16, 21-15 in the second round of the BWF World Championships 2019.
Korean shuttler Lee Dong Deun did not play well as he lost the two consecutive sets. Sai Praneeth outclassed Korea’s Lee Dong Keun in two straight sets of the match.
Two days ago, Praneeth beat Canadian shuttler Jason Anthony Ho-Shue in the first round match.
Sai Praneeth’s next match is on August 21 with Indonesia’s Anthony Sinisuka Ginting while HS Pranoy’s next match is with Japanese shuttler Kento Momota on the same day.
Both Praneeth and Pranoy will look to win the 3rd round to qualify for the quarter-final of the BWF World Championships 2019.
