Kawhi Leonard and Co became the first non-US NBA champions, Canadian team Raptors won the first NBA championship in their 24-year history, beating the Golden State Warriors, 114-110, in Game 6 of the finals at Oracle Arena.
The Eastern Conference representative Raptors didn’t lose a single game away from home against the mighty Warriors, preventing GSW from winning three straight titles and four in five years.

Kawhi Leonard won his second NBA Finals MVP award but it wasn’t a unanimous vote. The Klaw was one vote shy and that one vote went to none other than Fred VanVleet.
Toronto’s acquisition of Kwahi Leonard will go down as one of the greatest trades in NBA history whether he stays or not,

Kawhi Leonard, who carried the Raptors on his back throughout the playoffs, had a relatively quiet performance, finishing with 19 points on seven-for-12 shooting, six rebounds, and three assists – though he was named NBA Finals Most Valuable Player.
While it would have been nicer to see how the series would have played out if Warriors did not lose Kevin Durant in Game 5 and if Klay Thompson didn’t get hurt here in Game 6 after he scored 30 points as a primary offensive threat
That left Stephen Curry (21 points and seven assists), Andre Iguodala (22 points) and Draymond Green (11 points, 19 rebounds and 13 assists) to do the heavy lifting.
Golden State Warriors had an opportunity to win in the final 10 seconds after Danny Green threw the ball away. However, Curry missed a three-pointer that could have been game-winning shot and would force a Game 7.
It was highly impressive team performance given the harsh Dub Nation in Oakland that was both trying to keep their team’s dynasty alive and honoring the Warriors’ final game ever at Oracle Arena.
