Sindhu and Praneeth lost in the first round while Kashyap enters into the next round
Indian shuttlers PV Sindhu and Sai Praneeth out from the Korea Open 2019. America’s Zhang Beiwen beat Sindhu while Praneeth lost to Denmark’s Anders Antonsen.
Sindhu and Praneeth failed to make into the Round-16 of Korea Open 2019 while Kashyap wins the first round.
PV Sindhu won the first set of the match comfortably by 21-7. In the second set of the match, Sindhu lost her momentum. Zhang Beiwen won the second and third set by 24-22 and 21-15.
The Olympic Silver medalist Sindhu gave a tough fight to Beiwen in the second set but unfortunately lost it.
Sindhu’s consecutive defeat in BWF World Tour
This is Sindhu’s second lost in the month (September). A few days ago, Sindhu lost in the quarter-finals of the China Open.
Last month, the 24-year-old shuttler won gold in the BWF World Championships at Basel. After this big win, Sindhu under performed in both China and Korea Open.
India hoping for a gold from Sindhu in the upcoming Tokyo Olympics. Sindhu should refocus his aim. The next BWF World tournament is YUZU Indonesia Masters in October.
Sai Praneeth retires hurt
Indian shuttler Praneeth made an early exit due to the injury. The 27-year-old Praneeth lost the first set of the match by 7-21. In a second set of the match, when the score was 7-11, Praneeth retired hurt and lost the match. Praneeth’s injury sent Antonsen into the next round.
Praupalli Kashyap made into the next round
The two Indian shuttlers Sindhu and Praneeth lost in the first round but Praupalli Kashyap won a first round of the Korea Open 2019. Kashyap beat Taiwan’s Lu Chia-hung in two straight games.
Kashyap has won both sets of the match by 21-16. With this win, the 33-year-old Kashyap enters into the Round-16 of Korea Open 2019.
