Indian shuttler Sai Praneeth enters into the Semis of Japan Open 2019.
In the quarter-final match, Sai Praneeth defeated Indonesia’s Tommy Sugiarto by 21-12, 21-15.
Sai Praneeth won a straight game in the quarter-final against Sugiarto. Sai Praneeth beat Tommy Sugiarto within 36 minutes.
On the other hand, India’s smashing queen Sindhu lost to Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi by 18-21, 15-21 in her quarter-final match.
In the first set, Sindhu had a lead of 12-7 but Yamaguchi came strong after that and ended the game by 21-18. In the second set, Yamaguchi dominated Sindhu completely and won the set by 21-15.
Earlier, Sindhu lost to Yamaguchi in the final of Indonesia Open. Before that on Thursday, both Sindhu and Praneeth qualified for the quarter-finals.
Sai Praneeth had defeated Japan’s Kanta Tesuneyama 21-13, 21-16 to enter into the quarter-final. Sindhu defeated Japan’s Aya Ohori 11-21, 21-10, 21-13 to enter into the quarter-final.
Now, Sai Praneeth’s is all set to play against Japan’s Kento Momota.
