India’s men Hockey team thrashed Russian Hockey team by 4-2 at Kalinga Stadium, Odisha.
In the first leg of Olympic qualifiers, India’s men Hockey team registered a 4-2 win over Russia and start their Olympic 2020 campaign on a winning note.
Indian forward, Mandeep Singh has scored two goals in a match and helped his team to win their first match in Tokyo Olympic qualifiers.
Indian Hockey team is now favourites to book the spot in Tokyo Olympics 2020.

India got a brilliant start in the match as Harmanpreet Singh successfully converted a penalty stroke into a goal, in a 5th minute of the match. After some time, Russia’s Andrey Kuraev scored an equalizer.

Just after Kuraev’s goal, Mandeep Singh did not take much time to give a lead to his team. In the 24th minute, Mandeep scored a goal and gave a lead of 2-1 to India.
After the half-time, Mandeep Singh and Sunil SV scored a goal for India (one-one each) and taking India’s tally to four goals. In the final minute of a match, Russia won a penalty and successfully converted that into a goal.

The second leg match of Olympic qualifier between India and Russia is on November 2. The aggregate winner at the end of the two-match qualifier will book its place for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
