United’s centre back Chris Smalling is all to set to join A.S. Roma
The Italian football club A.S. Roma agreed to a deal with Chris Smalling in £2.7 million.
Chris Smalling is all set to move from Manchester United to Series-A club Roma on a season-long loan deal.
The 29-year-old English footballer is yet to feature for the Manchester United this season. Chris Smalling did not get chance yet because of the inclusion of Harry Maguire and the return of English footballer Axel Tuanzebe.
In 2010, Chris Smalling has joined Manchester United in a £10 million deal with Fulham FC. The 29-year-old defender has also played under United’s most successful manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
United’s current manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær has made it clear that he has too many defenders and he is ready to change Argentina’s Marcos Rojo in the coming days.
This season Smalling has not played a single game for ‘The Red Devils’. Chris Smalling’s contract with Manchester United is till 2022.
Smalling becomes the third player to leave The Red Devils to play in Series A. Before Smalling, Belgian footballer Lukaku and Chilean forward Alexis Sánchez have left United and moved to a Series A club.
Fans reaction after the exclusion of Smalling from United
Manchester United’s fans are not happy with the club’s decision to move Smalling from their team to A.S. Roma. Some United fans feel that their manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær is made a mistake.
