Real Madrid have reportedly struck a deal to sign Brahim Díaz in January
The Manchester City midfielder has refused to sign a new contract, with his current deal expiring at the end of the season. Manchester City had hoped to convince him to stay but that hasn’t been possible.
Now, according to Marca, they have agreed to sell him to Real Madrid for €15m (£13.5m) plus add-ons next week. The report says Madrid are planning to unveil the 19-year-old next week.Díaz joined the Premier League champions from Málaga in 2015 but has struggled to break into the first team under Pep Guardiola.
The Spain U-21 international has made 14 first team appearances, scoring twice, but finds himself behind fellow teenager Phil Foden as well as the club’s senior players.
Real Madrid plan to immediately include the 19-year-old in their first team, rather than using him in ‘B team’ Real Madrid Castilla.
Díaz has scored twice in the EFL Cup for Manchester City this season and featured in five Premier League matches last season, though he didn’t start in any of those games.
